Passports Now Required
Please note that should your daughter’s team be travelling to the USA this next season, effective June 1, 2009 you require a valid Passport to enter the States. To avoid your daughter not being able to attend a game or tournament please look into getting a passport now.

Atom B Raises Money for Breast Cancer
 The Waterloo Ravens Atom B Team (2008-09) raised a total of $855.00 based on $5 per goal, assists and shut outs throughout their season last year and donated all of the money in support of finding a cure for Breast Cancer.
All of the money was donated to the Grand River Regional Cancer Center. Way to go girls on giving back and supporting a great cause! We are very proud of your
accomplishments both on and off the ice. Thank you.

VOLUNTEERS FOR 2009-10 SEASON
If you intend to help on a team for the next season, please note that all volunteers working with children must attend the SPEAK OUT training There is one being offered September 11th in Waterloo so register now Also 2 clinics being offered in Kitchener August 14 and September 16 - it is mandatory training and you will not be able to work with a team if you do not have this.
You will need to produce your certification BEFORE working with the team -
THERE ARE LIMITED SPOTS SO REGISTER NOW - you only need to do this training once.

Requests for Permission
to Skate
These are not available until after the Provincial
Championships - April 20, 2009 Any player
currently registered with the Waterloo Girls Minor
Hockey Association is required to obtain a Permission
to Skate form to attend tryouts with another
association. Request for Permission to Skate Form

Why not consider helping out in the division that your daughter is playing in? It is not a lot of work and it is a matter of helping the Houseleague Director make sure that each division (novice, atom, peewee, midget) is taken care of within the Ravens’ system. Competitive SENIOR Division!
The Waterloo Ravens Girls Hockey Association is
exploring the possibility of adding a competitive
SENIOR division for the 2009-2010 season. Based
on the response and ice availability, a decision
to ice this team will be made in the near future.
If you are interested in playing on this team please
email your name to: ravensregistration@rogers.com
as soon as possible.
We will also be looking for coaching staff to help
with the team. All former members of the Waterloo
Ravens Girls Hockey Association who are now older
than 21 and who are interested in getting back into
competitive play are encouraged to contact us.
Goaltending Equipment Changes
For 2009-2010 Season
There are major changes for goaltending equipment
- This motion is to be in affect for the 2009-2010
hockey season therefore allowing two full seasons
for equipment purchase/use transition by the consumer
and manufacturer.

opportunity to apply for 2 awards in the amount
of $1,000.00 each for graduating
high school students who are attending post secondary
school.
